I are Avatar…

I'm the last person I know who finally saw the James Cameron’s new film Avatar . I'm not going to write the 100th review you've seen this week, but I will tell you how I could relate to the lead Avatar character Jake Sully. A man whom experienced living in another world and culture in which he fell in Love with and now can't go back to the old world he came from. A world which had become ignorant to the vital connections all things have in the universe and the components involving the sacred nature of the individual spirit.

Like Jake Sully, I couldn't go back to the the old way of being after the last few years of travel, learning a new language and living in other countries. In some ways I've felt like a man without a country, even though I'm a dual citizen and speak 3 languages. The world I grew up in is not the world we have today, not saying that I would like to go back in time and live then as an adult, but what I'm getting at is that the world I want to live in now be a little more organic, meaning: having a society similar in its complexity to the cycle of living things in mother-nature.

It has taken mother-nature billions of years to create life and find a balance for so many things to coexist and only a hundred years for the human race to wipe out rainforests, wipe out several animal species & polute the earth in the name of progress. The internet and other communication mediums have definitely given us a new edge and has given us access to more info we know what to do with, it has reconnected us with more people and different ways to communicate, but in the same manner it has removed us from being  fully present.

I see people everywhere paying more attention to what's popping up on their iPhone to what is happening all around them. Whether they're with friends, at dinner, in a movie theater or  even on a date! So many people are more focused on the Crackberry (a.k.a. Blackberry) vs. the people that are right in front of them! Rude for one and not present to whatever new experience they could be having by being fully present and not absorbing what is mostly gossip or useless texting. I'm not saying to not use your favorite walkie-talkie, but to pay more attention to what is really happening in front of you and bring organic back into your life, you'll feel better, I promise 😉

Lastly, go see the movie Avatar  if you haven't already and if you've seen it once on Imax or in 3-D, see it again in which ever format you haven't seen it in, it's fun to see it twice!
